Nonna's Ristorante - On W Somerset St in Raritan, NJ
This was a very unique eating experience for me. When we got there, they didn't give us a menu to look at, the waiter merely told us a few things that the chef was coking that night. Despite being caught off guard, neither of us minded and ordered. Years later, I still think about this place now and then and how delicious the food was. With the lights low and the restaurant mostly deserted, the dinner ambiance was calm and soothing. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time and then took our time savoring every bite.

Anna Maria's Italian Cuisine - On Connecticut Ave in Washington, D.C.
I was so sad to learn that Anna Maria's is closed... It was in business for over 45 years and served hotshots from Frank Sinatra to Tiger Woods. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was busy in a fantastic hoppin' kind of way, and the service was great. I'm from the west coast, and we don't get Italian food like they make on the east coast. This place was one of the greats and will be missed by many. If you never made it here, you missed out, but you have a kind of second chance. I read that there is another one that opened in Dunmore, PA.

C & O Trattoria - On the Venice boardwalk in Marina del Ray, CA
This place is legendary! I like Italian food, but I rarely get excited about it. This place is the exception though. Their garlic bread balls are unspeakably delicious and my favorite part. The pasta plates come in generous portions and are also very good. It's right off the boardwalk, so after enjoying the beach and the shops, you can fill up on great Italian food.
